Can I convert my existing CTDOS data into CTO?

We have no specific plans to include an automatic conversion of CTDOS data into CTO, since the two data structures are entirely different. Application data in particular would be very difficult to bring forward, and we would recommend that CTDOS users simply keep the old program installed or create printed records for historical reference.

Some other data could be imported if absolutely necessary, but at present we can consider doing so only on an individual custom service basis. For example, Growers and basic Enterprise data could probably be done this way, but CTO's new "Seasons" would need to be added to each Enterprise to make them usable.

When first considering this question some time ago, we determined that the substantial time required to develop a conversion process for all the different versions of CTDOS that are still in use would be detrimental to work on the new program itself. We felt that in most cases it would be far more efficient for CTO users migrating from CTDOS to simply make a fresh start.

However, if your company is interested, please contact us via email and indicate which CTDOS version you're using, which specific files you would like to have converted, and approximately how many records exist in each. We will then determine whether those conversions are feasible and reply with a time and cost estimate.
